Big news! Starting this Friday there’s a brand new play at the Stage! Secrets of the Bamboo Forest has a few surprises and the team’s been working really hard to get it all ready. I shouldn’t give away all the secrets, but the team wanted to show you this:

Also on Friday, you’ll find a new puffle furniture catalog in the Pet Shop. We’re excited about that, too, because we think you’re going to be stoked about some of the new stuff for your puffles.

New Penguin Style Today!

Hello Penguins!

Head to the Gift Shop today for the new Penguin Style catalog! Check out the Penguins at Work section for a Pet Shop Apron… it might come in handy over the next few weeks.

And speaking of Penguin Style, we heard from a lot of you that you’ve been wanting everyone to be able to have flags on your player cards – to show your country’s flag or even to show support for another country. The team really liked your idea, and starting today everyone can buy flags!

As always, we want to hear what you think of the catalog, the flags, and all the stuff you’re doing around the island.

Cave Expedition!

Hello Penguins!

There’s something behind the rubble!! Looks like all your hard work helping to clear the rocks at the Mine has paid off! We’ve already seen tons of you with your construction hats and shovels exploring the Mine Cave! Here are a few hints:

• Throw snowballs at the generator to keep the lights going
• Dig to find 4 pieces of a really special pin
• If you don’t get the pieces right away, keep trying…

The word around the island is that these rooms will be closed soon so check them out now! We really want to know how the exploration’s going – let us know what you’re finding!

We’ve spotted tons of construction penguins helping in the Mine! Last week we asked your favorite way to help out when something like this happens, and Iceiceice said:

My favorite job is bringing pizza and other refreshments around to workers! I really like it because it is really good excersise and i love the look on all the penguin’s faces when they eat my pizzas, it’s a great sence of accomplishment! Waddle on CP!

And speaking of helping, since the recent earthquake in Haiti, we’ve heard from many of you about how you want to help. We wanted to let you know that through Coins For Change you helped donate $322,500 to help kids in the areas affected. Your compassion and generosity toward others is inspiring and is making a difference — and for this week’s question we’d really like to hear ways that you’ve been able to help others in need.

Event at the Mine Update

Hello Penguins,

Things keep getting more and more interesting down in the Mine. A big thanks to everyone who’s been helping clear the rockslide – you’re doing awesome!

I’m excited to tell you that your hard work is about to pay off – the team has a HUGE event planned for this weekend when the rocks are cleared away. Check it out starting Friday!

It’s almost time to switch it up at the Stage with the return of Fairy Fables! If you haven’t acted or directed for this play yet, make sure you check it out. Last year it won the Penguin Play Award for Best Costumes!

Speaking of the Penguin Play Awards, keep your eyes open for a vote that’ll be coming to the blog soon. You’ll be able to help decide which plays will be competing for the awards in 2010!

What am I looking forward to in the new year? I’ll tell you what! I am looking forward to making new friends.
